Why create hidden fields in a HubSpot form?

You should create hidden fields in a HubSpot form if you want to track or tag a customer that comes in with something very specific that you don’t want the customer to know that they are being tagged with.

To do that go to:

  1. Marketing
  2. Forms
  3. Lead Capture
  4. Choose a Form
  5. Choose a Custom Property to hide
  6. Check “Make this Field Hidden”
  7. Choose Default Answer
  8. Click Update
  9. Publish

That’s it! Now you know how to create hidden fields in a HubSpot form!

Hello this is Frances
from good team.
And I’m going to show
you how to create
a hidden field in your form.

Why would you use a
hidden field in your form?
Maybe you want to track
or tag a customer that
comes in via form with

something very specific
that you don’t want the customer
to either choose or type in
or even know that they
have that tag to them.

So if you’re going to marketing
and lead capture under forms.
You can choose any form that
you want in any property that

has ever been created
under the contact level,
whether it’s a custom
property or a HubSpot property
can be hidden in a form.

So I’m just going to use this
contact form as an example.
You click Edit.

And then, like you would
in creating a form,
you’re just going to drag and
drop these form fields over.

So let’s say we’re going to
add the phone number and.
What I want to hide is
this big challenge, right?

So I don’t want
maybe I don’t want
them to know that I know
that they have too many leads
and don’t know what
to do with them.

So what I’m going to do is.
Uncheck make this field
require required and check
make this field hidden.
And then the default
answer is just
going to be too many leads.

Once you are done, you can
click Update and publish.
And then you’ll see here
if you open a new tab.

That that biggest challenge
is not present on the site.
So if someone fills
out that form now, it’s
all automatically
going to say to me,

Liz, don’t know what
to do with them.
And that will
always be associated
with a contact record.

So pretty simple.
That’s how you create
hidden fields within a form.
